That's great news. I will wait for other people to try it out and when they have ironed out all the bugs I'll move away from the South African region.![]()
I did this last year; moved my US account to local South African. Note, if you want to do the reverse, you'll need a US credit/cheque card with a US address attached to the card to pay for content (hence why I jumped back into SA).
Nice bonus, they gave me a month-free code for Xbox Live Gold since I had to wait a week for the transfer to complete![]()
Once every three months... Might be worth it to get some cheap US ms points...
Careful there murfle, unless you somehow have a bank account with a US billing address, I don't see how you'll be able to do that; unless there is a way to cheat using Paypal as a payment option.
Going to stick to SA service. Just makes sense. The US is tempting with all the content but I doubt Ill actually use any of it plus if more people are on the South African service then surely we'll get more support from Microsoft etc.?
The one thing that worries me is that I remember that when you were just able to migrate from UK/US to ZA, then you couldn't re-download anything that you had previously purchased after you migrated, so you had to download it all before you migrate, and then never delete it.
Unless they have fixed that, I'll stick with my ZA account.
I use www.cheapcodes.co.za, www.evopoints.co.za and www.mspoints.co.za
They are all cheaper than buying points straight from M$, and they have Gold membership for 3, 12 and sometimes 14 months, where M$ ZA only gives you a month by month option for R50 per month. It works out to less than half the price to just buy 12 months from one of those places
