    Default Cyclists ignore safety measures

Many cyclists in South Africa do not practise precautionary measures when using public roads, a survey revealed on Friday.

About 61 percent of cyclists questioned said they did not always wear helmets when they were on the road -- despite 64 percent agreeing that they did not feel safe on the roads.

Two out of five (38 percent) cyclists claimed they would like to ride to school or work but they believed their safety would be compromised.

this is a never ending battle.

Im a cyclist my self on the road and off, some times i want to get out of the car and smack some cyclists of there bikes because they making everyone hate cyclists because they think the road is there from them only. Some people just dont care and that makes the Roads a less safe place.

You're not safe driving outside of the four walls of your house so it doesn't change ones safety since you're always at risk.

If you're a pedestrian, you hate cars. If you're a driver you hate pedestrians.
But no matter what, we all hate cyclists

I'm going to print "Think Car" stickers and start sticking them all on every bicycle I see

its road cyclists that have the attitude on the road that they rule it. Its messed up. I cycle to work every 2nd day i never had a issue cycling on the road ever. Why because i respect the cars because if i hit them its a scratch, if they him me its a big Pain ><.

But this is a never ending battle because some cyclists will start driving in the center of the road and then they get hit and the rule will be stay behind a cyclist when they on the road lol
