Its an easy target to shift the blame to, easier than admitting the current system is failing.

Barrack's gun control is a much better answer.

I'd just like to point out he didn't call the developers the electronic child molesters, but the games themselves. Also violent television got lumped in as an electronic child molester.

I kinda used the title from the first article I found, didn't want to play around to much with my creativity. Either way It's still a pathetic statement to make.

“We are in the peak of [violence in entertainment]. Television program violence? Unbelievable. Video game violence? Unprecedented,” Nader said. “I’m not saying he wants to censor this, I think he should sensitize people that they should protect their children family by family from these kinds of electronic child molesters.”
That's a damn bold statement to make.
What's his definition of child molestation through violent displays in the media (games, television, movies)?

Videogames have age restrictions for a reason. If a game is rated 18 or mature, then obviously it's not for younger, more easily influenced minds.

I think that's exactly what he is saying. Parents should protect their children from violent games, he isn't saying we should ban them. Shocking he would call them Electronic child molesters though.

So... if they don't really have a problem with the games themselves but more with the age of the players and laws in place.
Then shouldn't they just enforce the law?, next time theres a shooting or anything and find the kid had been playing M.D.K. style games since he was 9 maybe they should fine the parents.... That will cause a stir.

Its an endless debate, but i would like to see the ratio of gun related deaths and those that are directly blaming games for the deaths, include gang killings and the like. Those results could paint an entirely different picture.

Kids will play a games that suit their tastes, parents are the ones who should be prohibiting what games the kids play based on the child's age and the type on content is contained in the game.

This could just be the current hot topic for politicians to gain support to further their careers.

what? I wasn't agreeing or disagreeing with the statement... my god relax. I was pointing out the previous posters knee jerk reaction was slightly miss placed.
