and that's what's going to hurt technological advances. people buy consoles ususally cause they are ok to play games on mediocore visuals (i say mediocre because consoles can't touch PC's). also there's something about game play using mouse and keyboard. using a contoller i feel like a gimp and severly restricted.

this is like rinse and repeat everytime ! consoles have never been faster than pc's period and it will never be !

    NES/sega master system < 386

    Snes/megadrive < 486

    ps1/saturn/n64 < pentium/K6

    Ps2/Dreamcast/gamecube/xbox < Pentium III/IV/Athlon

    PS3/360/Wii < intel Core/Phenom/Bulldozer

Have to agree with Isen... The original Crysis was Awesome... IMO Warhead was just as great they started making Crappy games when they had to cater for Console gamers too

I can understand scaling down open areas and such because of console hardware limitations, but a complete lack of creativity in the storytelling and game mechanics has nothing to do with what platform the game was developed for.

The sad thing is that Crytek had the opportunity with the third game to go back to what made the first one half decent, but judging from the first batch of reviews they've just made the bad things worse.

Yeah, but the thing is the story in Crysis was just as bad, it just didn't matter because the game was more about finding creative ways to approach your objectives. Even the suit functions in Crysis 2 was changed to suit console controllers more, with the power selection wheel being dropped in favor of integrating all the powers into normal buttons, such as Speed mode being tied directly to the sprint button, etc.

Some people might disagree with me, but I feel the move from PC-exclusive to multiplatform crippled the Crysis franchise somewhat, simply because some of the things that made Crysis 1 an amazing game were simply not feasible or even possible on consoles.

Right you are !! The story never was GREAT but it was relying more on the fun factor and graphics then story.
