Yes I agree. This Pistorius business has garnered far more reactions from the public than something like even Rhino Poaching.
The thing is, it's a vicious circle. Everything is motivated by money. The 'tabloid' celebrity crap gets far more views than a piece about corruption, or rhino's, or human rights, so the media will keep finding more and more for the hungry masses.
I don't know a solution to the problem, but it's a sad affair.
