    Default How to move a steam game

    My friend reinstalled steam and now would like to remove her dota 2 to her new steam from her old steam files.Anybody know how to get it working ?

    look at GameSave Manager, I think it has a feature like that...

    Did you try deleting clientregistry.blob before trying to open steam?

    You can also try copy and paste.

    copy your steam/steamapps/common folder over. Click install and it will rebuild the files, but wont need to download again.
    Google will tell you where saved game files are stores though.

    Simply delete the steam install folder, run a registry cleaner and re-install, then take the backup and install it again.
