Scanning quickly, the Point of View and Prestigio seems better specced than the Coby at roughly R300 cheaper.
The big question is how responsive the screens are. Has anybody here had a chance to play with any of these?

Love to see some decent reviews on these things. Battery life is also a big one.

Good call. I can just imagine getting one of these and having to charge the battery every two hours.

I've heard a lot of people say that the only (cheap) chinese brand worth getting is the Ainol.
    Unfortunate name, though:
    "What you got there?"
    "It's an Ainol tablet."

The prestigo looks like the best bet, you also didn't include the Colpad2 from Tabletworld, the Sansui E800 from Hi-Fi corp, the Gecko 7" Junior from Esquire? Though they all pretty much the same as the prestigo

I saw video's of the 10" Prestigio, and the screen on that one looked pretty impressive.. Maybe a follow up article on budget tabs of the larger form factor? *nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink*

Judging by price and name, All Chinese crap,

Yes the are packed with features and look good and steady, but in a few months they start falling apart (sometimes literally) and usually your first problem is the inferior touch screens they use.

Yes most if not all Tablets are made in China, the difference is they have an international company that has quality control, that why in 2 years your Galaxy Tab or iPad will work like new and these tablets will be in the trash.

Another consideration is do they support google play? I hear the coby kyros doesn't for example which is another limiting factor. We need decent reviews of some of these things.
