Only 33 percent of children in South Africa live with both their parents, the SA Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR) said on Monday.

SAIRR said its recent survey showed that only a third of the country's children lived with their parents and the rest lived with single parents, on their own, with relatives or in foster care.

Just over 39 percent of children live with their mothers only. About four percent live with their fathers only.
