    Default BMW driver caught at 211 km/h



    A 39-year-old man was arrested in the early hours on Sunday morning for speeding on the N1 in Midrand, said Johannesburg metro police.

    Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said he was caught driving his BMW 5 series at 211km/h in a 120km/h zone.

    "He told officers that he was rushing home in Centurion and was from a night club in Sandton," Minnaar said.

    Totally irresponsible but on the other hand totally understandable. If I had a millionare car I would also want to push it to the limits once in a while.

    I don't have a problem with people pushing cars like this to those speeds. Where I get annoyed is when someone takes their corsa with cheap brakes and so on up to those speeds.
    Have you ever seen a golf racing round Kylami and then compared it to a Audi.

    Speeding isn't what kills, its idiots on the road. A car that's built cheaply is more dangerous at 120KM/h than a car built to travel at 200KM/h.

    You can't just look at the speed but the width of the tyres, brakes and suspension set up.

    Traveling at 200 km/h is just plain stupid, go to Gerotek or Kyalami if you want to drive that fast.....stay off the public roads.
