Default Reaction to DStv increase shows consumer apathy

Is it a case of rather the devil you know or are South African customers less likely to take any action when experiencing dissatisfaction? The response this week to the imminent MultiChoice DStv price increases is an example of how many individuals complain but few are willing to find an alternative offering.

    People are keyboard activists. Slacktivists.

Make a whole lot of noise, but don't actually do something because it's too much of an effort.

    It doesn't help much complaining...
We could all head to the streets, toi-toi, torch their head offices...those kind of things usually work, doesn't it?

Who watches tv anymore...plus they started sensoring my movies , its unacceptable. I want to see all the gore and hear all the swearing. I'd rather pay R450 towards a better internet line.

Anyone still paying these monkeys (whether they are moaning about the cost or not) is a fool.

Err, where else would we get sport from? The only reason we still have DSTV is for the sport.

For the hardcore sports guy, I can understand it but even then, there are alternatives (a currentish thread at mybb explains a bit). I quit over 18months ago, haven't missed a rugby game yet

Always wondered why DSTV does not have a sports only option, 80% of the stuff on DSTV at the moment is really old anyway.

There is a way to buy select channels, there is a bar package that has only sport I think.

I like the idea of R450 to a great line and downloading everything though.
