How have the graphics on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 progressed throughout its lifespan?

But then the manufacturers of computer components would lose out... possible collusion?

What a notice most in the later games is a vast improvement in animation. For instance, Dead Space, just finished 1 and now on 2. The graphics dont look better but all movements including the smooth camera sway gives it an awesome look.
The monsters still look terryfing but there updated animation makes it look even creepier.

Its always been about AI and realistic character movements for me though.

This is half question and half guesswork:
Isn't it logical that developers, when creating a new franchise, would focus on core gameplay and mechanics in the first game, but then in any sequels they would have room to enhance the look-and-feel, and just tweak the mechanics, rahther than having to build it from the ground up?
So, by that reasoning, one should expect sequels to almost always look better as the series progresses, even on the same hardware... purely cos of the additional resources the developer can allocate to that department.
    Yes? No? Bulls**t?
