China's newly elected president Xi Jinping and Russian president Vladimir Putin have arrived in South Africa for a working visit, the department of international relations said on Sunday.

The two were received by President Jacob Zuma, the department said in a statement.

On Tuesday, Jinping and Zuma will engage in talks at the Union Building in Pretoria, before signing trade agreements.
