    Default Largest Ram per stick?

I'm looking to push up my PC's ram amount for 3D modeling.

Currently i have 2x 4GB sticks, not sure what the max number of slots my motherboard allows but i'm hoping to get my Ram value up into the 20's to handle the memory heavy 3D applications.

Ram is cheap these days, any recommendations?

I know you can get 8gb chips, so it should put you up to 32gb 4X8.
Which gpu you running, the gpu memory helps quite a bit with speeding it up as well

Ok your board supports upto 32GB.
So your forced to go with 8GB modules.

Ram isn't as cheap as you think though, prices have gone through the roof lately an stock is quite low.

About an hour too slow there Joker :P

DC for now just get the one 8gb, it should bring you right up to a much more noticeable speed boost without going too costly. I presume you are running 1333 in there, check prices of the 1600 memory, think you may find some specials with Easter coming up.

    32 gb is just overkill?

Not really,it's ideal actually. It's reccomended to at least have twice the amount of ram that the render needs.Baking fluid sims at 250 frames at 400res takes 6GB's and 3-6 hours of baking time.
