Default nVidia slashes prices and takes fight to AMD

We love a bit of argy-bargy at KitGuru. There’s nothing quite like a couple of multi-billion dollar corporations slugging it out, toe-to-toe, for market share. Right now, it looks like the winner is going to be you, the KitGuru reader.
For our American cousins, argy-bargy is where everyone gets very hormonal – and that’s when things get interesting. AMD stirred the pot with the release of the 7870 Tahiti LE, alongside the 7790 launch and appointment of former nVidia global VP for GPU sales, Roy Taylor.

Now, it seems, Fiona Faulkner [nVidia's queen of European sales - Ed] and her team are getting ready to wrestle in the mud.
Up and down the UK, resellers have been told that the up-coming launch of the ‘GTX655 Ti‘ will be preceded by a drop in price on standard/established nVidia stock.
Starting ‘very soon’, you can now pick up the following deals from nVidia partners, with the promise of more to follow in other areas:-

Something that's never happened before. Right now AMD are selling more cards than Nvidia.
    Good news for us then

No doubt AMD have the faster cards and the better value for money, this round belongs to AMD.

Wonder if its cause the Ageia technology is no longer a valid reason to charge a Premium price for cards.
Borderlands 2 is an example that you don't need a dedicated PPU to get good Physx.

Meh as much as I love Nvidia, this is good for the gpu market. I just hope they pick up the pace with their CPUs as well.

I'm still dreaming of the day when I can replace my two GTX580's with a single card that outperforms them, WITHOUT breaking my bank account in half. At the moment it feels like I have very expensive "old" tech. I know the Titan does outperform 2 GTX580s. But seriously....at R13,000.....?

Maybe it will be nice and cheap now with the price reduction

Nee eina, sies man. lol. But seriously - that's a great price dude. I'm installing two new Air conditioners at home this week, and it ain't cheap. At least it can be seen as a "PC related upgrade" since it will be cooling our upstairs study where our PC's are. I think, for the first time in my adult/working life, I'll have to wait until my gfx cards are completely useless until I upgrade them. Now, where are those next gen consoles?!?

Any news on an Asus 670 Joker? Am still battling to find one for less than an arm.
