Ok i know im a little late on this thread but if they were to take away the single player gaming features in our games... then what would give the games we play that spark of excitement to get stuck into dying to play multiplayer versions of that game.... Yeh I can understand some MMO's involve single player campaigns etc... but what about those who do not have web access or facilities??? does this mean that those are the people who are gonna get screwed over...

If companies were to drop single player features I can guarantee that gaming sales will hit rock bottom and gaming as we know it will end up going back to the stone ages all over again because companies wont be able to afford to develop high end games etc etc... and people millions of people will drop gaming in general as they do not have access to lans, online gaming and all that...

So maybe these gaming companies should think before they pull stunts like this on their consumers because it could affect them really badly in the long run.

I dont think it will affect them at all. The people who dont have web access are usually not that keen to play games. The few who are, would just go copy the game from a friend. And besides, everyone in the US and Europe and Asia have web access. The small population of 5 million South Africans who make more than minimum wage, wont even make a spark in their sales graph.
