Default Nelson Mandela discharged from hospital

Former president Nelson Mandela has been discharged after spending nine days in hospital recovering from pneumonia, the Presidency said on Saturday.

"Former president Nelson Mandela has been discharged from hospital today, April 6, following a sustained and gradual improvement in his general condition," spokesman Mac Maharaj said in a statement.

"The former President will now receive home-based high care."

let me guess... nag van messe ?

    :edit
What exactly has Mandela been doing to stay the course of RSA going apeshit? He is no Jesus holding back the problems of which we have quite few already and they are not being stopped and are getting worse.

He has been out of politics for a while now if you have not noticed that. He is an old man and really needs to be left alone and stop being put forward as the man that is somehow buffering RSA against total bloodshed/collapse. That unfortunately is already happening, how exactly has he been stopping this?

IMHO (sadly) he has to go. Why? Am I mad? Heartless bastard? Well... it seems the only way that he will be finally left alone and RSA can step past lying in wake of him being there as the guardian against all evil that will befall RSA. Circle continues because you people keep on putting the man there.

    I lol'd.

But whats strange is that why would they supposedly do this only after Mandela dies? It's not like hes holding anyone back or anything?

Blind, maybe you should ask Ike to clarify before assuming what he means?

The man earned the right to be 'put there' - using your words. If you look through your crass way of stating things, Madiba should be left to enjoy his last few years being a husband/father/grandfather instead of having to try and sort out the mess that we are currently in.

Somehow I think you undervalue his contribution that was made pre and post 1994.

I just feel the ANC are gonna use his death to deepen the racial divide in our county. I mean at the last elections they said if you vote for the opposition then Mandela will die, what will they say when he really dies?

Maybe I'm being paranoid but I think his death will be a very scary couple of days for some.

Edit: Maybe it's only goodwill that holding things back, he doesn't need to be actively involved to play a role.

As a country we need to let him go. He's a legend in his time, but he's had a wonderful innings and he needs rest and space.
