Jeremy and I took a look at the PEGI rating and they do have provision for highlighting discrimination, which includes religious and racial stuff - something that Infinite has in spades.

Strangely this notation didn't make it onto their rating for the game: http://www.pegi.info/en/index/global...shock+infinite

We have mailed them to find out why, and what may have gone wrong there.

Maybe because the religion portrayed in the game isn't a real-world religion? I think a religious rating would be fitting for a game such as the Left Behind series, but not really for something like Bioshock Infinite.

As stupid as this is, you truly have to applaud Valve response and their response time. Well done to them.

As for the complainant.... while I understand his complaint I still think it's stupid for reasons mentioned already by other posts above.

I agree, and the way he person sounded so concerned, it's like his religion is the only one around. What if Comstock, was portrayed as Jewish, or Catholic or Muslim? Would it still be offensive?

Haven't played the game yet(Month end I will) so i can't comment but I've played a bunch of other games and at the end of the day it's about realizing it's nothing more than a game, it's not in any way forcing you to change your values or beliefs.

Valve just set a massive precedent. I don't think that was a good move out of a financial view point:
So you play their next game, don't really like it, or whatnot, and then look for something that religiously might offend and ask for a refund.

Out of a PR view this is great, not for future games.

Well, they can just check your achievements as well as your total playtime to see if you played past a certain point in the game.
