He protects his son aged 29 from violent media? How exactly does he do that? Lock him up in the house?
But violent 007 Bond movies are fine? gtfo...
It's when public figures who know nothing at all decide to post commentary about issues such as this that it does so much harm to a particular industry. Because if (celebrity name here) said it, it must be true!
Games don't kill people. Movies don't kill people (in real life, unless you count heart attacks from scary movies, but I digress) and music doesn't kill people. People with weapons kill people and they are usually the unbalanced sort likely to commit violent crimes anyways. Instead of blaming media for which the vast majority of this world who don't have problems blurring fantasy and reality together the focus should instead go towards the parents who fail to notice or choose to ignore all the warning signs that their darling little kid is in fact a sociopath and likely to harm others. The fact that they happen to play video games (a past time shared by many) or listen to music that is in line with their feelings of hatred and self destruction just coincides does not mean that it is the cause.
In fact, I would even go as far as to say that allowing them to act out in a video game is more than likely a better option than to let them act it out in the real world as most of the sociopaths wouldn't go so far as to shoot up their schools (or else we would have heard of lot more of those happening). The ones that do are the fringe element, a fraction of a small percentage of potential sociopathic mass murderers.
But hey, what do I know? I am just a video game player - watch out nearby schools, I play video games!

Is anybody else imagining Pierce sitting in the corner of the set crying like Lara croft after she killed the first guy.
