It seems that when it comes to gaming smoking actually saves lives!

Hit the head, that kinda thing.

It's not bad doing prolonged gaming sessions. 10-15 minute breaks every hour makes it fine.
This depends on the individuals themselves. Some can do more, others' less.
All comes down to what the individual's limits are, and by what amount they're exceeding that limit.

    Doctors do recommend:
    10-15 minute breaks every hour

Yeah - never pushed it beyond 24 hrs...and that was already with a solid 1 hr of watching someone jamming a game & various break consisting of other nonsense.

Even that was kinda pushing it though...had enough at 20 hrs, but being young & idiotic we decided a 24hr lan is in order.

12 hrs jamming, 7 hours sleeping, 12 hrs jamming works nice. Split each 12 hrs with a rocking braai for guaranteed win. That you can fit into a weekend, the eyes get a rest & you've still gotten ~24 hrs of fragging.

Or to quote Luis Guzman "How is this a bad plan?"

If I get addicted to a game (and if I'm on vacation or something), I can probably do around 20 hours... but then when I go to sleep, I don't wake up. What happens is that I dream that I'm still awake and playing so I don't realize that I'm still asleep and should get up. I don't think that I've had a game that got me completely addicted like that since Mass Effect 1 & 2 though and perhaps Dragon Age / Witcher 2... thus, I haven't done it in quite a while.

No guts, no glory, no brain, same story.
