To be fair, MyGaming runs these competitions in an attempt to get people more active on the forum, not just to be nice to everybody. I'm sure after a couple of tries they will figure out a way where everyone is satisfied. Trying something new is always going to upset some people.

Extremely stupid move to this type of format. I know of plenty of guys that have been here for years but they work so post very little. What they do post is invaluable but now they will be inelligble ........ dumb.

Wowee but people complain. There have been tons of competitions over the last while that anyone could enter just by voting on a poll.

This one requires more work and rewards those who post a lot. It's one competition. It's not stupid, it's a way to reward people who post, and a forum need those people.

I don't post much unfortunately but I can see that it's a good idea. Anyone who thinks about this for a little bit will realize why it's a good idea.

i am quite sure that people are just going to spam everywhere and make pointless posts. My thoughts are that it is a bad idea.

Also yes i understand that the comps are a way to try get more trafic through the forums. but most the prizes are given out my companies etc etc. so its not like Mygaming is paying for them? surely?

So far people haven't been spamming.

Also your point that prizes are given away by companies and that MyGaming is not paying for them has no correlation with the comps being a way to try and get more traffic through the forums. Traffic drives a forum.

Surely you know how this works by now, Solitude: if a frequent poster wins, then it's the end of the world because "only regulars ever win prizes." Let a n00b win, and then it's the end of the world because, "who's this guy? Why didn't a regular win?"

What's that saying about pleasing some people some of the time?

At least MyG proudly faces the usual onslaught, but I think we have this discussion every time there's a competition, and then as well AFTER every competition for good measure.
