A well-known Cape Flats pastor and his wife are in critical conditions after being shot in Bellville, it was reported on Monday.

Community Safety MEC Dan Plato told the Cape Times Ivan Waldeck, 45, was shot five times in the upper body and twice in the legs, and his wife was shot in the head.

"He [Waldeck] will recover, but his wife is in a very critical condition," he said.
