I wouldn't question it because that's a game (a single game, mind you) centered around it's online gameplay, but I certainly would question Always online for something like Metro: Last Light, or Bioshock Infinite. Sure, the social aspect (achievements tracking and the like) is a nice option (that being the keyword), but if it's a requirement for all my games (SP or MP by proxy of it being the console's requirement), then it may become roadblock for my gaming experience, if as I mentioned in my previous post, I don't have the proper connectivity to fulfill the requirement (whether it's an area related issue or otherwise...). This will ultimately make me question whether or not I should get the console (if it had the Always online requirement, since that's what we're examining here; the implications of Always online), because I won't always have the ability to connect, therefore I won't always have the ability to use the console at my discretion.
In my books, that's a very serious implication.
I must admit, all these reports are a bit overwhelming with the confusion they spread. Has the daily check in been confirmed because I've been reading reports that contradict each other, each of them with 'quotes' from Microsoft execs...
What has actually been confirmed?
the problem is MS did not expect sony to reveal their console ahead of E3 they where probably holding out for E3 expecting sony to do the same (to still finalize the console and games) and then sony dropped the bomb in feb and they scrambled to make a quick May reveal of the console.
