Ello chaps,

In this thread we will be discussing our forum names and how we came about them. Ill go first i guess.

My first time using it was in World of Warcraft, all of the other names i usually used where taken so i had to come up with a new one. I used to go down the coast a lot as a kid and still remember to this day, a kid and his dad ( from upland ) where in the store at Happy Wanderers Caravan park and he kept asking his dad in afrikaans for a Roomys. The kid didnt shut up the entire time he was in their and the dad started glowing red, they got to the cashier and he ordered one for the little shit walked outside with it and dropped it on the floor. Needless to say the kid was pissed started crying ran to the trampolines and fell onto the old concrete slabs they had surrounding them cutting his left ear open...The dad straight away ran back into the store got another icecream and told him not to tell mommy.

So yeah thats the story of how i came up with my name, ill also post a pic of artwork i got done back in the day when i was in Sorted on the US servers.

I like Vampires and Gothic themes. So basically, all things dark.

So I wanted to mix those two together. Initially it was Vampothica, but I felt the "a" made it too feminine, so I instead shortened it to Vampothic.

It's just something that came to mind while playing UT3, I think it was. Random thinking that lead to it. :)

My forum name isn't the one I've been going by for a long, loooong time. I switched to Zoop a long time ago, but then later changed it to Zewp because Zewp is roughly the sound a lightsaber makes. That's not really the reason I chose Zewp but I thought it was an interesting fact.

I switched to Zewp from Zoop because Zoop is usually taken in most online games and I like to have the same name in online games that I use in gaming forums, so that people can easily find me online.
 
I'm just gonna copy and paste the first part from a similar thread we had a while ago:

Wlad is basically an acronym. It used to be Vlad which is also an acronym. Vlad standing for "Value Life Accept Death" and Wlad is the Afrikaans counterpart "Waardeer Lewe Aanvaar Dood".

I've been using Vlad since about 1997 but I changed it to Wlad when my father passed away in 2005. The Vlad wasn't always an acronym, I chose it back then because of my fascination with Vlad Tsepes a.k.a. Vlad the Impaler, but when my father passed I figured out the acronym and noticed that it works in Afrikaans as well so I chose to use the Afr one.

The most irritating thing is people (online) not knowing it's Afr and then trying to pronounce it. I usually end up being called w lad or weelad or something.

Recently though I've started using Myrdlok, which is something I made up when I needed to create an account somewhere and Wlad was already in use and I didn't want to add a number (again). It's basically a combination of the names of two creatures in the Wheel of Time books by Robert Jordan (Myrddraal and Trolloc), I just kind of joined them together and changed the C at the end to a K. It popped into my head and I liked the sound of it so I have been using ever since, just wish I could change my PSN ID to Myrdlok, but it's wlad777 forever I suppose.

In high school in my first year I was told I looked one of the Matrics with the nickname Ike and our names are both Michael, that was one of the nicks I got. Then when I started playing CS I used IkeV2.0 to start with as a play on being the 2nd Ike and so on.

In matric I started using 09 for the year I finished matric and someone joked about ripping 007 of so I stole that into 009 as a joke and then I got into it so its now Ike_009. I miss the V sometimes but IkeV009 aint working.

My other nick was Gweg (and plenty of plays on it) which was more popular at school but it doesn't work as well over online platforms, really long story and is more silly.
 
I've had my nick for the last 12+ years. I needed something short for Q3A days, where you could color in each individual letter while lanning. So yeah, went through a couple of ideas. Came from Cougar, the feline, being stealth like and stabbing you in the back.

And thus Kuga was born.
 
bounced around between a lot of names but settled on Tank as it's a nickname I earned in rugby way back in primary school
