If this proves to be true (30% of the Wii U GPGPU is yet unknown)

Microsoft has also stated that they could possibly increase the processing power of the XboxOne over time by processing most of the game on the cloud.

And 680 already whallops on PS4 and XO. Give it 2 years and you'll already be struggling even to downscale games for the consoles.

The same could be said for the PS4 which could use its Gaikai cloud service for the same purpose.
So the real question is.... Are these the final specsor are they transient?

Dude, you and me both. That's the only game I wanted on the PS3 and it's the only Sony game that excites me now.

I still think its going to come down to third party support and the quantity and type of games releasing on each console.
It then makes sense that the Wii U is already lagging because their library of games is completely lacking for a lot of audiences and as far as I can tell the in-house games and exclusives have little to no appeal for me personally.
Also there aren't any announcements of future releases for the Wii U that are going to change this as far as I can tell.
Nothing is permitted, everything is true.

Ok now I can say something

The important thing to take note of is the GDDR5 Memory.
No one knows how well it will perform, it is also a LOT more expensive than DDR3 Memory.
Then there is the fact that the Xbox will be running DirectX while the Ps4 will be running OpenGL
There is also the Embedded memory of the X One, while the PS4 doesn't have any embedded memory.

I will say the Xbox One reveal was pathetic lol but I still think its gonna be a damn good console.
They now need to concentrate on clearing up the online only shit, second hand/pre owned/rental shit, and show us some next gen games...seriously lol

We'll only really be able to compare the 2 consoles head to head when we actually see a next gen title being played on both machines.

On a side note, the fact that the consoles both use multicore cpu's, means us pc gamers will finally get titles that are designed to run on more than 2 cores. Meaning cpu's will finally start having more of an impact on gaming. Right now you can still play pretty much every title apart from a select few (Crysis 3, SC2, Anno and a couple of others) perfectly fine on a dual core cpu.

Multithreading is a must and the way forward!!

Nice post. The 8gb GDDR5 memory is a huge wildcard. I can't help but think it was a good move though - ddr5 is standard in graphics cards these days.
