They did exactly the same with the 9800gtx+ being rebranded as the GTS250. But the 250 was a superior card to the gtx+ because of its size and thermals. Benchmarks don't care about whether a card is basically the same PCB and GPU - they could have created a brand new GPU and if it had the same results it wouldn't make an ounce of difference. Anyway it is actually faster and has upgraded components. You're just whining.
And who says the 770 is going to be pricier than the 680 exactly? Do you have a source for that?
