    Heh. I have a GT240 512MB GDDR5 in my mom's machine. Still runs all the games at 720p very nicely.

    I am also running a 5770 still on 1080p.
    All the games I play I can still run on full.

    Lolz at the True and rumor in thread title. It's a true rumor?

    Nope. "True" refers to the HD8000 being the real thing, not the rebranded 7000 series cards the OEMs are getting now.
    One day, I'll grow up and become responsible.
    Probably not today.

    The 5770 reminds me of the old Geforce 8800 cards, its a few generations old yet everyone's got one and it still handles alot of new games (albeit at lower detail and resolutions) perfectly.

    So what you're saying is that the 5770 is a rebranded 8800?

    a few years ago the Geforce 8800 was the best bang for buck card and everyone i knew had one nividia even went as far as rebranding it as the 9800, its a card with a hugh following and some people are still using 8800's and play alot of new games without much hassle, albeit it does not have dx11 support, the HD5770 seems to have picked up the same following, the 5770 series is about 3 years old now and look at all the peeps still running those cards and are still able to max most new games.

    I remember how long the 8800's lasted, and the 5770 and my 5850 seems to be going the exact same route. Incredible card, I'm still so happy with my purchase.

    8800GT -> 9600GT -> 4890 -> 6870 -> 6870CF -> 8970 or 8870 CF...

    As long the new AMD line up has come out and prices are decent and its in time for BF4 (next title I will prolly need to upgrade for).
