Bribes to pass driving tests in SA widespread

Nearly three in five young South Africans with a driver's licence claim to know people who paid bribes to pass their tests, according to a survey released on Wednesday.

It found that 59 percent of licensed respondents claimed to know people who bribed to get their licences. Thirty percent said they did not know anyone who bribed, and 11 percent were unsure.

I had a friend who failed 4 to 6 times. I think he eventually went to Graskop to go and pass it there (they have like a couple of stop signs in town and no robots.
Was pretty funny though.

Is this really a surprise, corruption is rife in sa , if there's a license for something then there is someone who has bribed someone to get it, I reckon that you probably find that if they were giving away licenses, someone would still bribe someone to get it

No, but it was so ridiculous I wouldn't believe him. Eventually I asked my mother if it was true - and it was.
