Though my brother in law at the time did take me to Bo Kaap to learn how to drive so you could say I learnt the hard way
The learners test was easy passed it first time with a high percentage didnt even have to learn from the book since I knew it from watching my mom and dad drive

Have to make an appointment soon.
If I fail again I'd start considering this. I hate the humiliation.
I wonder how many times people are deliberately failed? It would be a prime way to frustrate people into going the bribe route. Best of luck for the next time.

And then there are those who are clueless and could never get a licence without bribing someone for it.

Also the C1 licence for a small truck can get you a licence easier than the car licence. Don't need to reverse or start on an incline. And we wonder why accidents and fatalities keep happening.

    /sigh

Given how sht most drivers on SA roads are loads of bought licenses seems pretty close to the mark.

You'd prefer unethical behaviour? After 2 fails? Thats pretty sad.

I have friends who only made it on attempt 5.

I passed my learners and drivers first time. But I'm slightly older than most of you so I think i made the cut before the officials caught on to the whole lucrative bribing industry.

I managed to get my learners every time, think I did it three times, but every time I would let it expire. Got my drivers license on my first try.
