    Why do you say that?

People may not find it exciting; personally I find the issues fascinating. She points out an issue, and backs it up using an array of video games. I am now at every turn aware of the 'Ms. Male Character'.

Stopping at the cover before peaking in the book? I find that strange, because it would stop me from knowing more than just the norm. Its always good to broaden your understanding about other personalities and people.

Even so from time to time you can learn a thing or two. After tropes I started to see things differently. Its now quite easy to point out the basic "save a damsel" angle and actually it is quite lame to say the least if so many producers depend on it instead of going by saving the dude for a change...

IMHO as a dude its a good idea to at least watch ep 1. It puts a few things into perspective that Azumith was always trumping about.

I watched episode 1 last night. Contrasted with the latest episode, I think she has improved somewhat in her delivery so as to not alienate people with a certain *cough* disposition.

Building on your 'save a damsel' point, in general the literary value of games is very weak.

I actually did and to be honest I have more important things to worry about than the weak plot devices people use in games and cinema. I am more concerned about in game micro transactions at this point...but that's just my opinion.

And to be honest I don't have any games installed on my pc where the plot is to save a damsel in distress.

It is not only about weak plots, it is about a lot more which one should have picked up if they looked at not just the cover of the book, but given its contents some thought.

What she is trying to relay is in fact quite important and in the current industry needs to change. What good is a game without micro transactions, but god forbid a female (or gay) on the front cover?

I don't have a problem with female or gay characters. I would rather be concerned about people trying to squeeze every cent out of you just to fully enjoy a game. For example pay this and that to unlock this or that. Or pay this or that to play this quest(dragon age) Instead of giving as a full product they want to give us a bits and pieces.
