well, a controller is certainly the better way to to play the game but yeah, i also experienced a couple crashes last night. had to switch Power Mode to always, and that seems to have fixed the issues.

I dunno everything has been fine for me except for the crashing issue that I managed to fix. Also I started out using a controller, but it felt so disconnected from the character so I switched to M+KB and it felt a whole lot better for me.

So far I think it's a fantastic RPG.

I'm surprised no one is really bringing up the clearly obvious facade, or are we the only ones experiencing these issues. You'd think the media would be all over this!

I'm actually surprised at how well the game runs, given that I'm pushing Highs and other postprocessing features. Have not run into any issues yet, but I am still only in the first town, things probably will change. Even in the beginning, glancing over the horizon, game ran really smooth.

I'm finding it difficult to complete side-missions as I'm always distracted by the environment.

Note: not running in 1080p yet as my monitor does not natively support that resolution.
Note: not using a controller (tried), as it turns out the Left analog pushed down has issues; needs to be depressed really hard to register .

I will probably have to buy a new controller if I so desire to play using a controller, which I do.
For me, a game that does not require accuracy has decent controller support I tend to like to play using one.

What facade? That the game doesn't look "Next-gen"?

So here's why the cutscenes feel laggy, they are running at 30fps (thanks consoles, it's Dragon Age Inquisition all over again). Here's how to remove the limit. This won't fix the one that are pre-rendered obviously.

1st is the cut scenes.
go to your config file at "Documents\The Witcher 3\user.settings",and open it with notepad. then search for "MovieFramerate".
change the 30 to 60 and save.
you now have 60fps max cut scenes.

Not only that and the obvious "downgrade" debacle. I won't go as far as to say the game is broken, but it is in definite need of attention as there are clearly broken elements. The fact that this game was clearly developed with console in mind as it appears it was prioritized in development, and it shows!

Apart from all the bullshit and drama that we've been talking about, let's not cover all that again. I'm still helluva enjoying it and get engrossed in it and I will pour hours into it.

i'll start playing this weekend, its sad that crysis from 2007 has better graphics than a title from 2015.

lol guys are acting like I am the Anti-Christ but you have to see the issues with the game.
As BeoTeK said, the game is a console port...a poor one. Isengard Yeah I figured out the whole cut scene 30fps shit.

The game is great and I am enjoying the actual story and quests and the audio but they let pc gamers down badly.

Here are a list of compiled fixes, welcome to PC gaming / ports...

Micro stutters on nVidia Cards.

Nvidia Control Panel- Witcher 3 profile- set max pre-rendered frames to 1, apply.
Laggy in-game cutscenes.

1st is the cut scenes.
go to your config file at "Documents\The Witcher 3\user.settings",and open it with notepad. then search for "MovieFramerate".
change the 30 to 60 and save.
you now have 60fps max cut scenes.
Game crashes randomly or hangs in inventory.

Turn off the frame limiter in the games graphics options
Want hairworks on with less fps impact.

Go to: installation directory\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\base → rendering.ini
search for: HairWorksAALevel and change it to 2 or 4 for a significant boost.
Get rid of annoying controller detected message box.

Go to your Witcher 3 folder location and go into this folder:
"...\The Witcher 3\bin\config\base"
Open up "hidden.ini" with notepad.
Change "LockControlScheme=0" to "LockControlScheme=2"
This will get rid of the annoying message box and will always show the controls for the controller. You still can switch to your KB/M whenever you want, but it won't display the KB/M controls on the hud.

Isengard
Thanks, will try those fixes out tonight.

And guys, please don't get me wrong. I am in no means hating on the game or CDPR. Like I said and as The Joker states, the game is amazing if you remove yourself from the obvious problems (unfortunately you can't). I am really getting engrossed in the story and atmosphere (then it crashes), but it could have been better.
