You can check the changelog in the link I posted, but basically it will address a few of the issues with how combat works in the game. The game can be quite difficult in the beginning as a result of how they made character development work, e.g. you have to unlock the ability to block attacks from all directions and other stuff that should have been unlocked from the beginning. Geralt will now start with those skills already unlocked and the mod includes a few other changes like balancing issues, experience gained, new animations, etc. There is actually a lot of changes so your best bet to get an understanding of what the mod does, would be to read the changelog.

Cool, hope you enjoy it. I am really looking forward to playing the game with this mod myself.

Cool... I must say, I enjoyed the game very much just standard as-is. I think it was difficult at first, but at the end I was able to beat everyone... Granted, I always only play the game on Normal difficulty. I don't find it entertaining to keep dying all the time.

However, I'll give the mod a try for my next playthough... the game apparently has something like over 10 different endings depending on choices and I've only had 3 or 4 so far.

No guts, no glory, no brain, same story.

I just picked up The Witcher 2 on the steam sale over the weekend. I'm really excited because I just bought an HD 7950 too! I really need to put that bad boy to work on something other than poorly optimized console ports and now I have that game

Remember to create an account and I think you also need to download patch 3.4 before installing the mod.

Play Witcher 2, you do the world an injustice by not playing it.
This game will eat most pc's alive when maxing everything out so beware ;-)
Beware it is brain numbing hard and extremely rewarding. Witcher 1 you could kinda get away with not using the right sword(you know steel for humans and silver for monsters).
Witcher 2 it really matters, potion making and choices make massive diffrences in the game.

Witcher 3 I will pre-order within a heart beat. And when Cyberpunk 2077 comes out
