For MP games, sure it's the same, but for SP games to be online as well is the kicker for me and where it differs.

That's very true. Microsoft and Sony (with certain games) are going to have a torrid launch in South Africa unless our retailers get their shit together.

Can you imagine how many parents are going to buy their kids these consoles without knowing about the online requirements? Or how many of those pissed off parents are going to be returning said consoles?

They should start thinking of making pamphlets......

My big issue is that this is a repeat of Diablo 3 and Simcity.

This is also a very big possibility. We can only hope that it won't get to that point.
