I'm talking specifically about singleplayer games here, though. Not only will they need to be online, some features will be handled server-side, meaning you're going to experience latency in your games. AI and physics calculations? Does that now mean it's going to take the AI 200 - 400ms to react to you? If you run into those cans of paint it's going to take 200 - 400ms before they go flying?

Also, as far as I know CoD can very easily be played offline. You just can't access the MP component when offline, but the campaign is open to you.

Doesn't bode well from where I'm sitting.
