Default Cricket Thread - not the bugs but the buggers playing it :)

With the current and last Champions Trophy and well there is no other cricket thread here that I am aware of I think it's about time a suiting thread was created.
Who is watching the games? What do you think of the results that have happened? Who do you think will get in to the semi's and who will ultimately win the cup?

I was pleased to see South Africa do so well last night, I am wondering if Behardeen (not sure how to spell his name) will go in to the next game in place of Miller since Miller hasn't performed that well in either games and it gives a bit of a bowling option.
I was impressed with Chris Morris' showing, very tight bowling to keep the pressure on as well as that of Tsotsobe, maybe Lonwabo is coming back in to form.
I am glad that Kleinveldt was left out, I think his 15 minutes of form is over and it needs to be challenged by the talent we have in this country.

I am expecting a South Africa vs England semi, should be interesting. Just hope South Africa don't, dare I say, "choke".

It was quite a good game last night. And it could have gone either way. I felt the team was a lot better in its balance than the first game. Personally, Simon, I hope they stick with this team. If Steyn is fit to bowl then it should (regretfully) be at the expense of Phangiso.

I am not a big fan Berhadien, so I would prefer Miller to be left in the team. None of the batsmen expect AB and Hash have performed all that well, so I would like to see the same team, Miller included, given another outing.

Whatever happens, the game against the Windies is a must win and going to be a cracker!

I personally thought that last night the batsman could have done better, the runs was almost not enough. Yes the pitch was much better suited for the bowlers but still. I am very disappointed in Miller's form, but I don't think he should be dropped just yet. After the slaughter he unleashed during the IPL he sure has more than enough talent and BMT to function at this level.

Do you guys think that Kirsten's departure after the competition will have an affect on the team, positively or negatively?

I'm not too uncomfortable with the new coach. Kirsten trained the guy up to be his successor. So we should confidence that the future of the Proteas will be in good hands.

I am more a rugby fan but enjoyed the cricket match the other night and seems South Africa has had a good week in all the sports.

Lower totals usually make for exciting games. Especially if your team comes out on top

I love watching the chasing team especially if its ours make it so thrilling to watch them catch up.

T20 is my favourite too not a 5 day fan.

I love the 5 day version of the game, it's the real test of a teams strength. Mind you I love them all, favourite one to watch is definitely the 50 over format though. Its a pity that I don't have DSTV though so I can only watch the ones that are shown on SABC3

I myself love to watch the 5 day tests as well. The T20 are lots of fun to watch live, especially at Supersport Park in Centurion.

So back to the ICC. My picks of teams to watch out for, is India and England. SA has a real chance this year, but that seems to be something we always say in the big competitions..

I think the reason that England has such a chance is that it is home ground for them. I feel India are the likely ones to win this tournament, they have a really strong batting lineup. I just hope DeVilliers can keep his form which will definitely improve SA chances.
