just wish they had more option than dumb horses. there are some awesome looking mounts. I see dem rollin', I be hatin'....
Don't worry you'll get them with time I actually had no issue affording horse upgrades when I played through the first time. I remember back in my WoW days I really had to farm to be able to afford a horse. In my experience the Rift ones are much more affordable

What professions do you have? Gathering professions can make quite a nice sum.
When an anti-piracy method is affecting the game for people who legitimately bought it and causing other people not to buy the game, there is obviously something wrong with it!

yeah WoW mounts were bloody expensive. does Rift have any flying mounts?

at the moment I got armor and weapon smithing and mining. bit it seems I'll have to drop either the armor or the weapon smithing to get foraging

In stillmoor there is an Awesome mount you can get with some grinding too. Also at 50 if you want mount speed just start opening your fire planar attunement and spend some points there. You also get buffs you can apply to your leg armor to increase mount movement speed for 4 hours.
I'm still very far from lvl 50

I haven't seen a flying mount yet, but I haven't played the new content (50+).

Yeah the crafting professions can be very expensive to maintain, so I wouldn't really recommend more than one per character. You can buy more profession slots with credits (the loyalty currency) if you would like to.

I'll create a google mailing list for Evil Kitten later today and we can use that to communicate and arrange guild events etc. But I'll basically be playing something from 5PM - 10/11PM tonight. It might be something else early on, but definitely Rift from 7 or so onwards. Unless somebody wants some help with something.

Edit: Can all Evil Kitten members please pm an email address to me if they would like to know about guild events etc?

I haven't really found a use yet for the professions cause my quest rewards are A LOT better than anything I can craft

I'll only be able to play this weekend again

There are some real nice craftable sets that have good set bonuses and can also help ease your transition into end game dungeons a lot, but there isn't much point in crafting the stuff yourself. There are always crafters available who can craft the stuff for you for a small tip.

Drop me a PM with your email address and I'll add you to my recently created Evil Kitten mailiing group (if you want).

No flying mounts like in WoW (no flying at all). There are however mounts that are hovering, guess that doesn't count eh?

Anyhow, you can buy mounts directly in the cash shop. I noticed Trion gave me like 2000 Rex (or whatever the cash shop credits are called) because i subscribed in the past.

Not sure i plan to return properly though, i played the crap out of this game, got 3 level 50s and 1 that's lost somewhere in the Storm Legion isles (lvl 54 or so) . The lvl 1-50 game is the best, lvl 50-60 feels like WoW Burning Crusade in terms of landscape and speed of leveling.

Still a great MMO. Rift got it all.

that's a shame. saw one of the hovering mounts last night. if they can go over water then I guess it's not that bad.... flying would have been first prize still
