I would rather recommend that you try and get hold of a cheap Wii-U then and future proof yourself. If you buy a Wii now it will cost you a few hundred bucks and it won't be able to play Wii-U games, but a R2000 Wii-U will be able to play Wii games.Originally Posted by jasong

I think that that was Nintendo's biggest mistake. The console came out priced incorrectly, and it would have sold many more copies if it was R1000 or so cheaper. Look at how quickly the consoles disappeared at R3000 with the BT games special, and more recently at R2000 at ToysRUs and other stores. There is demand for the console, but the pricing was incorrect.

It is a delicate issue - You don't want to go too cheap - then punters will just snap it up to make a quick buck on gumtree.
