Post The Witcher 2 Full Combat Rebalance Mod by CDPR:

This has been quite low on most gamer's radars, but the guys at CD Project Red have somehow found time to develop a mod that does a complete combat overhaul for The Witcher 2. Made totally in-house and comes with huge tweaks and new animations to make Geralt look and feel even more badass.

This is a general combat tweak and bug fix mod.
The main goal was to increase Geralt’s responsiveness and mobility.
For some people like me who only just got the game recently, this is awesome news.
The core changes list is quite a read, so go grab a cup of coffee and enjoy: Full Combat Rebalance 2

The mod is a 1.5 gig download (last I checked), registration required. Guess what I'll be doing tonight

    Anyone tried this yet?
I found the original to be excellent and found the combat very challenging.
Much better ten the noab friendly games today

Nice post, but I mentioned this a while ago in The Witcher 3 debut gameplay thread. The mod was not made by CDPR, but by Flash. He does however work for CDPR (only started there after the release of Witcher 2 though, if I'm not mistaken). I'm loving this mod, already basically done with Act 1 of the game with the mod.

*downloading* I bet they are implementing changes to the combat in Witcher 3 and decided to unofficially port some of those features over as a mod for W2 players. Plan to play out the Iorveth story branch this time round.

Sorry I missed that post Wlad, already watched the trailer so I skipped the read.

Gradius!!! The mod is AWESOME! Changes things quite a bit and it also makes the game a little more challenging in some places and a little easier in others. Combat is more responsive and you don't need to rely on rolling around that much to stay alive any longer (it is still needed from time to time, but not as much), in tougher battles Geralt will spin away from enemies instead of rolling. The mod also addresses a few issues with balancing that makes the learning curve a little better.

Although Witcher 3's combat will change a lot from 2, this mod has nothing to do with Witcher 3. CDPR said that they basically redesigned the combat from the ground up for Witcher 3. Like I said, it was made by one guy (Flash) who is known in the Witcher modding community for his excellent Witcher 1 FCR (full combat rebalance) mod. He is now working at CDPR as a gameplay designer on Witcher 3 (I think, might be wrong about his specific position).

Enjoy the mod! Just remember that you can't play the tutorial with the mod as you can no longer parry like the tutorial asks you to so just skip the tutorial. Not sure if Flash fixed this with an update to the mod, but I just thought I'd mention it.

I got The Witcher 2 a while back on steam, but still not played it. Is it possible to get mods onto steam games too?
