Games like
Saints Row and
Grand Theft Auto; allow you, to do things you wouldn't/aren't (be) allowed to do in reality.
Releasing your inner virtual sinner/criminal - all in the name of fun.
They're (in my opinion) played... usually for the story - all other activity are just how you progress throughout the story line.
If I can commit a virtual crime knowing my soul won't be punished or I won't be caught by the cops... Then by goly! You can be sure it's something I'm going to do.
Like I say; All In The Name Of F.U.N
