Wait till the end of the world or somewhere alone then you will need the survival skills.

Please tell me this is a joke. It is right? Shooting a gun in a game is nothing like firing one in real life. Same goes for driving. Anyway, I'm not going to get in to one of those arguments here.

GTA appeals to me because of its sandbox style mode of play. It isn't a game on rails like some titles that I won't name, and it gives me a lot more freedom. I cannot count how many times I have decided to not play through the main quests, or even the side quests in the game -- "I'm going to go and do some handbrake turns and get chased by the cops for negligent driving while listening to old school thrash metal on the custom music radio station instead."

True. It's virtual practice. My mouse doesn't have recoil... Imagine - a mouse with recoil.

First Person Shooters (now with mouse recoil): "The Way It's Meant To Be Played"

Virtual practice I can understand, but using skills learned in a game for survival in the real world? I don't know, I'll stick with Bear Grylls.

There are games to teach you how to skin things and other sorts.

You didn't mention those types of games earlier, but fair enough. Is one of them Far Cry 3?

Never played it so wouldn't know

Youtube probably has better tutorials anyway than games would

Well, I think it's fair to say I haven't come across those sorts of skills in GTA. Can't comment on Saint's Row because I haven't played any of those games.
