As much as people like to think, we are not even 20% close to 1st world countries when it comes to airport security. As Hav stated, it is scarily easy to get dangerous things onto a plane, nevermind just the airport. A bf of one of my friends went from CT to Jhb and then on to Durban with a Glock ....... not once discovered. Scary stuff.
