Don't agree backing it wouldn't have changed the specs. I hope if google makes a console it at least has similar specs to the current generation.

If google backed them then they might have been able to bring out version 2 end of this year or next year with more competitive specs.
1st one is just so that people get to know them and BAM! the second one will mind control us all.

Their console would be an Adnroid based console, so yeah... we have one of those.....

They will probably end up removing the focus from the Ouyuyuuyaawu if they do offer one...

Perhaps they will be buying Ouya?

I can't imagine why I would want this. There are plenty of Android consoles already and they're all a bit half-baked. All you have to do is literally stuff a tablet chipset into a black box and load it with AOKP. But the games 99% are developed for a touchscreen, and they have to be shoehorned for a controller. Google can't even get native tablet apps, good luck with getting decent console game ports.

    Thumbs up

Remember when Google released the Nexus 7 and that weird ball called a Nexus Q?

Well, the Q as a cloud-based media player was a failure, BUT, tack on a gaming capability and more I/O ports, and you'll have possibly a really cool device that connects directly to the Google Playstore and cloud services such as Drive, Gmail, G+ and Hangouts. Necessary? Nope. But is it worth doing it cause it's cool? YES!
