Well, if you are playing with trusting friends or family then loot stealing shouldn't be much of an issue. I'm sure the XP must be split fairly between the party so as not to create a panic over who gets the kill first.

That could be a problem. I can see a lot of sad/ angry faces of people who with a lot of effort whittled down a particularly hard enemies health, only to have some idiot pop off a shot and take the XP for him/ herself. Absolutely...it's a rather grave concern for the co-op portion of the gameplay. I hope they have addressed it when the game is released.
Actually, I'm quite sure the XP is shared, or at least mostly shared. I only confirmed this after writing the article, though. :P
