For value I'm extremely impressed with the performance of these speakers, although they in no way compare to the X5000 series (these are amazing!)
I have the X530, and I don't have any complaints! Doubt if I'd go any bigger than that, coz I don't think me neighbors would appreciate...

now this can be a useful thread as I'm also looking to upgrade my sound at some point...preferably in a way to accommodate my xbox.

I've got a 6.2 Sony solution with amp and all. Works brilliantly. Like being in a theater, at home

They are literally the same as the X-530's but with a wired remote and squarer, more tradition-looking speakers. I've got them and compared them to a friend's X-530's and the sound quality seems to be pretty much identical, so no upgrade in that sense, but the wired remote is sweet. It has a long cord, a headphone output (but no mic unfort), volume and bass knobs, and a 'matrix' button that converts 2 channel into 5.1. They are only very slightly newer, had mine for at least a couple of years.
    Bless his little cloven hooves!

I have a el cheapo LG component system 6.1 with a mede8er M/player and a 42" lcd. With twins of 2 and a half in the house, listening to music and movies very loud is out of the question....
