Well, from my younger, stupider days - here's a top tip. Never get drunk when there's a video camera around (although it can be rather interesting to see all the stuff you did that you can't remember after blacking out). Fortunately I'm past that stage of life.
Edit: I see the no camera's rule has already been mentioned - I second it.
