Been doing some reading and keep in mind I have NEVER played ANY Final Fantasy games, basically for my healer I have 2 options:

    1. Start as a conjurer and move on to becoming a white mage. There is a dungeon finder in the game that I can access from early levels on (level ?)
    2. Start as an arcanist and move on to becoming a scholar. I read that arcanists can heal low (level ?) dungeons but CANNOT queue as a healer until they become a scholar (level ?)

    That about right?

    1. This is correct and the dungeon finder opens at level 15
    2. This is also correct, the difference being that the scholar does smaller heals which also provide buffs

So the best thing to do would be to start as a conjurer, do normal heals in dungeons from level 15 as soon as I can, catch a ride on the levelling train and run dungeons while there are people. Become a white mage, see what it is like in groups. Then grab a book and start from level 1 as an arcanist, this time the world a little emptier as most have moved on up the level ladder.

Mostly solo the arcanist until I can become a scholar at 30 and then do dungeons as a healer. This will then allow me to cross slot some white mage heals or play a white mage and cross slot some scholar skills.

Sounds good. Pity the arcanist can't hit dungeons early on, or I would play that from the start, the idea of more tactical smaller heals with debuffs and shields appeals to me more.

you will need to lvl a sub class to 15 to get a white mage we are not sure of the classes req as of yet since it hasnt been tested but we know conjurer is the main class and they pull skills from arcanist and thurmaturge but we dont know of those 2 is the sub class or even if subclasses are still needed

    Reading this:

    http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=657017

Has me totally overwhelmed and realising that this MMO is launching with more complex systems in place than I have ever seen in an MMO.

I am going to have fun just exploring the various systems.

Heheh Shrike its why we all love the game, its complexity is awesome. I still cant make up my mind, bard or scholar, so I will finish my bard first then do the scholar.
