Is it possible that the MWEB connections cannot handle excessive data? The reason I am asking is 'cause for the last few months I noticed a huge problem regarding ping and loss at the first MWEB Joburg connection when I do a traceroute type trace. Everything would be fine until it reached the MWEB part, then suddenly the loss is 30% or more and ping jumps to 250+. Not suitable for gaming.
I usually send the stats through to my WISP, who would forward it to MWEB.
For the last week or so the net was fine, no more problems(touch wood).
So, once again, is it possible that MWEB could not handle heavy data flow, it somehow congest the connection, therefore they are throttling heavy users, clearing the lines for the rest of us.
I had this same fight with my WISP. They claimed that due to the few uncapped users who use excessive data the network was being congested, I felt that they should not have offered an uncapped service if they cannot handle the demand.
In our case there is no mentioning of any restrictions for heavy users.
