    Default PluGG

    Anybody here know PluGG?

I'm shopping for a new ISP seeing as MWeb want's to throttle my already pathetic 1mb line (which is supposed to be an unthrottled account)

PluGG's 1mb line costs the same as mweb's, but with NO limitations

Same connection as ADSL, but no limits! Download what you want, when you want, whatever the size. These lines are semi-shaped.

Hey Malice. Why not give afrihost a try? I also came from mweb and I must say I am very impressed. Have had no disconnections since I have been with them (3 months) and my line is very stable. And best of all they are cheaper.

I've only seen plugg on the standard bank website for a 15% discount.

Still on the redafrica special though so no reason to try switching.

I've used Plugg uncapped for the last year or so, and have been very happy with them. Found they provided better latency for online gaming compared to other ISPs I tried, such as Afrihost and Mweb. But that's just my experience :P

I've had a bad experience with Afrihost in the past, left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth

I am currently considering Web Africa. their 2mb line works out only R125 more than mweb's 1mb...

I've been pretty happy with WA, I tried a 2 week trial on MWeb, and I found it a very similar experience.

What's nice is that WA is quite transparent about how they think you're doing in terms of their AUP.

Here's how I'm doing at the moment

They say that if there is major congestion, they will throttle people starting from the 1* (red) side, being the biggest bandwidth hogs. I'm still pretty much in the green, even with 50GB this month. I think the PS+ and XBL Games with Gold nailed me a bit last week with downloads, but it'll probably drop back to 5* some time soon.

    - Did you receive an email from them or are you jumping ship because of that article?
    - Are you on Normal Uncapped or Premium Uncapped?
    - What is your average usage per month?
