The major loss is not the so called 0.4ghz difference, its the fact that the 4670K has the "K" designation which means it has an unlocked multipler, aka it is overclock friendly. The 4430 cannot overclock much/at all if I understand it correctly.

Won't make much of a difference now, but in say a year or so, if you wanted to "upgrade" your system, and you had the 4670k, you could have bought a cooling kit (say corsair H80i) and overclocked the 4670k to say 4.4-4.5ghz, for an easy 10% performance gain.

The price difference is around R600-R700 between the two CPU's, so depending on what 4gb of ram and shipping costs, although I doubt its R700.

Perhaps get the input of a few more clued up folks here? - this is just my understanding of it
In my opinion the 4GB does not make up for it as he didn't only loose the value of the CPU but the Z87 motherboard as well. He could have spent more on the GPU instead. You have a valid point and that is why I choose the "K" series.
