I had a friend at school who was a total weedy nerd class clown type of guy. After school he had no clue of what to do with his life so he joined the Army in the UK(he had citizenship). I saw him a few years later and he looked totally the same except for some extra muscle and a heavy british accent. He says its the best thing he could have ever have done for himself though there were moments he wanted out, it was worth working through it. As far as I know he did 3 tours of Iraq. He has multiple stories of enemy engagements but what struck me was how he told the stories, just as if he was a normal guy talking about his day in the office. Hardcore
