    Default Not Scary ,Scary Movies

So I just watched Evil Dead ( the New one )
And either Im just too grown up to get scared anymore or these movies have lost the ability to scare .
I keep hoping that something will come out that has that real tense and terrifying factor
But it seems I get more of a scare from my Light Bill than these movies.

AM I alone in this , does anyone even get scared by these movies anymore? or is more just about the gore

Not "anymore" , more like never. Been watching horror movies since I was 4 or 5, the only movie that got me quite scared is The 6th Day ( even though not a horror ) . A few movies that had my heart pounding a bit were 30 Days of Night and 28 days/weeks Later. That's about it, I don't watch horror movies anymore because they are all so fu**ing boring. If you want something to get your attention, try some torture porn movies like 7Days or Salo or Borderland or the famous Saw, but I usually save them for rare occasions when I'm very bored.

The problem is, those aren't really horror movies. They're slashers intended to disgust the audience or make them cringe, not really to scare them. I can't stand those kinds of movies, simply because I find the entire concept a bit boring. Also, I get very queasy from seeing injuries on the big screen. I couldn't stand to watch a few scenes in the Game of Thrones season 3.

Just move into the found footage genre. Problem solved.

None of the found footage movies genuinely "scared" me. Unsettling yes. Scared? Nope.
What was it that made you scared?
That's just like, your opinion, man.

Thats the question what actually makes a person scared of something is it the fear of the unknown?

Not all of them are scary, they just have a much bigger effect on me than anything else. Most other horror movies barely leave an impression on me, but after I watched the first Paranormal Activity I slept with my light on for the first time in over 12 years.

Most found-footage films don't quite have that effect, but what I love about the genre is that it often gives a fresh and interesting take on horror. They don't get stuck in a cliche rut as often as standard horror films do.

Grave Encounters was scared the shit out of me. And I was holding my breath the whole time through Blair Witch Project (the first time I watched it).

I thought Insidious was excellent as well - bit of a 'meh' ending though.
    Also Insidious was good.

The last Not Scary ,Scary Movie I watched was The Cabin in the Woods.

Maybe a few jump-scares, but nothing that had me holding my seat or covering my mouth in shock and horror.
